Gertie is a sweet and tiny senior lady that was dumped at the local shelter and for the life of us, we can't figure out why. This little girl is affectionate, calm, well mannered, and loves to play with her humans with a ball or stuffed toy.
Gertie also seems to be extremely reliable about going potty outside and even though she doesn't see as well as her foster brothers and sister, she's even learned to use the doggie door. Gertie
is hard of hearing, but comes when her foster mom whistles for her and is happy to join the chorus, when the other dogs in her home decide there is something to bark about. She will occasionally talk to you when she's excited or
sad, but other than that, she's a quiet girl. Gertie gets along with other dogs but would also be fine as an only dog. She enjoys sleeping with her human brother every night and loves to snuggle with people on the couch any time there is a lap available.
Gertie also seems to enjoy going for walks and gets very excited when it looks like she might get to go somewhere. We recently had her to the vet for full blood work, dental, and cyst removal. She is healthy and ready to go to her forever home.
Gertie has a lot of love left to give and would love to give it to you!
Adoption Update: Gertie has found her forever home! :-) This tiny girl made friends and won fans wherever she went. Many people offered to foster her and a few offered to adopt her, but for some reason or another, it just never worked out.
So, having fallen completly in love with her, her foster family decided that her proper place was with them! They love this spunky, sassy little girl and look forward to spoiling her in the months and hopefully years to come. Welcome home Flirty Gertie! Welcome home!
