Ellie is a sweet little girl that was used for breeding and the relinquished to the shelter. The shelter vet staff removed a cyst on her back, spayed her, and performed a dental on her poor, neglected teeth.
We have taken Ellie to our vet for a full exam, fecal, and blood panel, when her staples were ready to come out and everything came back great! Even though this "Little Momma" has had a rough start, she is such a good girl! She has a very
calm temperment and is great around other dogs (even big ones.) Ellie is learning how to live inside with a human family and is coming along great. She's enjoying all the love and attention that is now being
lavished on her and is responding in kind. Is this sweet little peanut the right girl for you?
Update from Ellie's Foster Dad - 4.26.2010: Ellie is about the best dog you would ever want to meet. She is very smart and learns really fast. She has already mastered sitting for her meals, comes when called and we're working on house training.
We don't think she was ever house trained before coming to us. She seems genuinely interested in pleasing us and learning whatever we try to teach her. She tries to figure out what we want her to do next. If we're in the kitchen she sits on the rug. If I head down the hall, she runs to my office to wait for me.
She's very affectionate, and will cuddle up in your arms and go to sleep. It pleases Debbie that Ellie prefers her lap. But Ellie will still get up in my lap, even if I barely have any more room, because of the other two dogs.
Ellie walks well on the leash and never tires. She has boundless energy and gets along with all the other dogs. I think she likes to hunt almost as much as Parker, though she hasn't brought us any "gifts" yet.
Ellie has a good appetite and eats well. Her scars are gradually disappearing and she looks better every day.
Adoption Update - 6/24/2010: Ellie went home with her new mom today. :) She'll have a new big brother named Howie to keep her company and a kitty to make friends with.
We know Ellie will be cherished and treated like the royalty she is! Blessings to this special girl and her new loving family!!
