Sidney has come such a long way since we picked him up from the Escondido HS a few days before Christmas 2010. He was emaciated, dirty, and afraid of everyone.
Sid is a healthy, strong, affectionate young doxie boy. He seems to especially attach himself to his primary caretaker and is most devoted to that person, but will accept affection and food from other family members once they've gained his trust.
He LOVES the company of other friendly doxies (and dogs in general) and will even play with them, if they are gentle and kind. He is SO good with other dogs, that we often take him on our home checks to
help us gauge the temperament of other dogs in the home. He loves to go for walks. He needs to be crated in the car, because it makes him nervous. We're working on that!
He sleeps quietly in his crate every night, as long as he can see the people he loves. :) He got a dental and blood work in Jan of 2011 and is ready for his forever home.
Working with a shy dog takes a lot of devotion and patience, but the rewards are priceless. Are you ready for the love and affection this sweet boy has to offer?
