Happy, confident Mud is a standard "all dachshund" boy that likes pretty much everyone over the age of 10. Tiny children are not his favorite, unfortunately, and that's why his family decided to give him to rescue.
Mud is smart, strong, and loves to fetch balls and go for walks. He gets along with other dogs, but can be a bit pushy, testing his boundaries. However he seems to respond well if the other dog (or person) lets him know they've had enough.
He would do well in a home with structure. His ideal owner would have lots of doxie/dog experience and understand how to set good boundaries for him and teach him basic obedience so he can thrive.
He is super affectionate and playful and ready for any adventure. Mud is currently overweight and we hope to get him down to about 19 lbs. He'll also be getting blood work and a dental before going to his new home.
